Low humidity is an issue with guitars every year, but this winter has been especially bad due to low outside temperatures and the necessity of more heat indoors. Remember, any kind of heat you have is dry and removes moisture from the air. We see guitars coming in on a near daily basis that have been damaged by lack of humidity. Lack of humidity can cause the wood to shrink, changing it's shape and affecting playability. Solid wood guitars are particularly vulnerable to these effects. If the frets stick out over the neck, the wood has shrunk. We strongly encourage guitar owners to invest in a humidifier. We have some individual humidifiers in stock now at a great price. They provide cheap insurance for your precious instruments and save you lots of $$$ in the long run!
